Part of Ascension into any dimension, means living from your heart and not your ego. Some will say to eliminate the ego completely, but that doesn't resonate with me. I stumbled upon, at the right place and time as always, Sananda Lessons and one thing in particular about a lessons on ego struck me.
We have an ego, personality and soul - they are all different. Ego was put in place as a veil and it was for separation from our Higher Selves. In this lesson on ego, it stated that ego is part of us, something we not to be removed, but is something to master and not let it control our thoughts. The best way for me to relate my thought about this is that ego is all about "me". As you stop automatically living from your ego, you will think more about others and then as a collective.
One way for me to realize when I was using ego was to think about the words I'm choosing. Yes, we choose the words we use, sometimes mindlessly, but we do.
Some words in general came to mind for me when thinking about ego. Control is one of those words. One that wants to control another is living through their ego, but sometimes control is not so obvious. I decided to change how I use words within my vocabulary that I felt were part of the circle of control.
They are:
It is easy to realize control when the thought comes that I need to tell someone how to do something. That stopped immediately. I have no business telling anyone how to do anything, regardless if my ego says I know better....That is when I started telling ego to sit down and be quiet.
Control was easy to expand on for me. Anytime my thought was limiting someone else's choice - it is control. That to me is the root cause analysis so to speak of my thought. The questions I asked myself is "Is my thought limiting the choice for someone? Does it infringe on their free will? If my answer to any of those were yes. STOP!!!! The best question I found to answer with a yes before proceeding is "Was I asked?" If I answer no, STOP!!!!
Now some of these words will be used in everyday life; it is how I'm using them that matters. Should is a word that I cannot really think of a good reason to use in speaking to another. Even if I'm speaking of something that is about me, there are no should's. We either do or don't do.
Of course if I'm riding with someone who doesn't know the area, I will provide instructions. I will ask first, would you like me to provide directions. Yes, this person driving may need them to get around efficiently, but me just blurting them out, is limiting their freedom to go wherever they wish. They just may want to drive around, explore the area. Me saying, go here, limits them from exploring.
This was a pretty simple way to change for me. Just thinking about the words and how I intended to use them when speaking. It is alright to stop and say that is not the word I'm looking for and change it when speaking. It is OK to stop while speaking and say, no, that isn't how I want to say that.
By asking yourself those questions above, you may shine some light on how you are living in ego. Other questions may come to mind. Other words as well as I'm sure there are many and many choices in our language that may attempt to limit someone's choices.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you found something to resonate with.
Just a quick note. Sananda is the Light Being that is known as Jesus when he was here on Earth. The lessons I spoke of can be found here. http://www.sanandaseagles.com/lessons/lesson_index.html

- Have - as in "I will have someone do this"
- Don't - as in "Don't do that"
- Do - as in "Do it this way"
- You - most of the time when the word You is used, some instruction is being spoken of
- Turn here - telling someone how to drive, the fastest way, the best way. All ego.
- Need - as in "You need to...."
